A cidade de Silves irá receber nos dias 23 e 24 de março a primeira prova da Taça Portugal  XCO. O evento é organizado pelo Clube Xelb e encontra-se sob a égide da UCI - União Ciclista Internacional e Federação Portuguesa de Ciclismo, contando com o apoio da Câmara Municipal de Silves.

A Ribeira do Enxerim vai ser palco desta competição, de categoria C2, que se realiza em circuito fechado, numa extensão de 4,7 km e que é pontuável para os Jogos Olímpicos de 2016,  que irão decorrer no Rio de Janeiro.

Nesta primeira prova da Taça de Portugal de 2013, está inserida também a segunda prova da Taça Regional XCO, nela irão participar diversas categorias de atletas, de ambos os sexos, desde cadetes e juniores a sub 23, elites e masters.

Destaque também para o Encontro Inter-Regional  de Escolas Zona B no dia 23 de Março, às 14h30, onde competirão os futuros campeões desta modalidade.

Parte do circuito da  Taça de Portugal  XCO – Silves decorre na pista onde se realizou a Taça do Mundo, em 1998, em que foi vencedor o ciclista australiano Cadel Evans.

The town of Silves will receive on 23 and 24 March the first race XCO Portugal Cup  . The event is organized by the Club Xelb and is under the aegis of the UCI - International Cycling Union and Portuguese Cycling Federation and has the support of the Municipality of Silves.

The Ribeira do Enxerim will host this competition, category C2, which takes place in a closed circuit, a distance of 4.7 km and that will count for the 2016 Olympic Games, which will take place in Rio de Janeiro.

In this first proof of the cup of Portugal in 2013, is also inserted the second round of the Regional Cup XCO, it will participate in different categories of athletes, of both sexes, from the cadets and juniors under 23, elite and masters.

Highlights also include the Inter-Regional Meeting of Schools Zone B on 23 March at 14h30, where future champions will compete in this sport.

Part of the Portugal Cup XCO circuit - Silves passes on the track which hosted the World Cup in 1998, when he won the australian cyclist Cadel Evans.
